March was a month of celebration and reflection as we embraced B Corp Month, a time to highlight our commitment to sustainable practices and positive change. This year's theme, 'This Way Forward,' inspired us to share our journey and aspirations across five key categories: Governance, People, Community, Environment, and Customers.

Governance: We take pride in our governance standards, ensuring transparency and accountability in every aspect of our operations. As members of the British Candlemakers Federation, we uphold the highest manufacturing practices, prioritising safety and quality for our customers. Additionally, our in-house laboratory plays a pivotal role in product development and testing, ensuring the excellence of every St. Eval candle.

People: Our dedicated team is the heartbeat of St. Eval, driving us forward with passion and dedication. We invest in our team's well-being, offering increased employee discounts, fair wages, annual surveys, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. It's our way of showing appreciation for their hard work and commitment.

Community: Partnering with organisations like GOALS House and Cornwall Wildlife Trust allows us to extend our impact beyond our walls. Our Bay & Rosemary Scented Tin Candle proudly represents GOALS House's mission at sustainability events worldwide. Moreover, our three-year partnership with Cornwall Wildlife Trust aims to reintroduce beavers to Helman Tor, promoting rewilding and biodiversity in Cornwall.

Environment: Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Our commitment to renewable energy is evident in our factory, powered by a wind turbine, solar panels, and biomass boilers. We also prioritise wildlife conservation on our farm, providing habitats for birds and pollinators with birdhouses, nesting areas, and a bee hotel. Most recently, our CEO Ian installed a duck hotel on our lake, furthering our dedication to preserving nature.

As B Corp month comes to a close, our journey towards sustainability continues. We remain steadfast in our commitment to pushing the candle manufacturing standards, ensuring that every St. Eval product reflects our values of creating an environment that enriches people’s lives and treading softly on the Earth.
